As President of Scannell & Wight, an international consulting firm, Dana W. Scannell combines over 25 years of hands-on management experience with an education in psychology and business, and has worked with organizations in the manufacturing, real estate development, transportation, technology, insurance, and financial services industries. He specializes in executive coaching, leadership development, and team development, and brings a unique approach to the importance of people as the key to success in any organization.
Dana possesses a strong talent in understanding individuals and teams, along with a keen insight in seeing the potential of people and gaining their confidence and trust. His passion is to help people find, develop, and maximize their strengths and talents, with a proven ability to convey complex ideas in clear, simple ways. Described as affirming, encouraging, and insightful, he blends a deep understanding of people with a depth of knowledge about organizations.
He gained his experience in various senior management positions with The Oliver Wight Companies, an international consulting and education firm, and was mentored by Oliver Wight. He directed the human resources, operations, and customer service groups, and went on to become the executive responsible for developing and managing their publishing operations and corporate marketing efforts. In addition to his consulting practice, he also serves as Executive Vice President of The Oliver Wight Companies, Inc. Dana has a Ph.D. in Psychology with an emphasis in Organizational Psychology and the Development of Human Potential from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and earned an M.A. in Psychology from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California along with a B.S. in Business Management and Communications from Babson College in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dana is a Certified Senior Birkman Consultant, a Certified Talent Consultant and Certified Talent Strategist, and a Certified Insights Practitioner. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Society for Human Resource Management.
Dana also works with a number of other highly qualified professionals to bring their experience and expertise to large-scale projects and collaborates with them to serve their clients as well. In addition, he is a member of Worldwide Excellence Partners, a global consortium of highly experienced manufacturing, enterprise planning, and supply-chain consultants.
